iEBRA aims to accelerate zero-energy renovation across Europe by improving how building data is collected, structured, trusted and shared. The project supports building stakeholders in making better renovation decisions by combining energy, environmental and financial assessments within an integrated BIM-based ecosystem.
At the core of the project are the Smart B-Renov Toolbox and the Open Digital Hub, which will bring together digital tools and services for renovation planning, data exchange, enhanced Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), financial assessment and digital inspection. The solutions are developed through a co-design approach with relevant renovation stakeholders and are supported by capacity-building activities in three pilot regions.
Fraunhofer Italia contributes to the co-design of the Smart B-Renov Toolbox. Its work focuses on renovation process mapping, building-data requirements, validation and quality-control procedures, financial and monetisation frameworks, enhanced EPC services and the integration of LCA-related information into renovation decision-support workflows.
