Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an informative methodology that progressively simulates the planning and building process of a plant with integrated 3D planning, scheduling, costs, supply chain management and materials as well as project and information management and maintenance. The BIM methodology is considered the second digital revolution in the construction sector and offers significant increases in process efficiency and quality.


Building Information Modeling for public authorities

Through our research we want to help public authorities to face the digital revolution with applications which are both innovative and capable of integrating with existing data management systems. We also aim at improving the efficiency of public works processes and reducing the time-to-completion of technical processes in the interests of faster, more transparent and aware management.


Building Information Management for companies

We want to demonstrate that digitalization adds value and opens new markets to SMEs and enables users to face new challenges in the construction industry, such as electric mobility, in the design of new building complexes. We also promote collaboration between the various players in the construction industry value chain.



Geographic Building Information Model Management

The GEOBIMM project aims to develop two software applications that, thanks to the integration of BIM and GIS data, support public administrations to have a more efficient and aware control of the works, from the territorial to the detailed scale, both in the Facility Management phase and in the management of building permit processes.



Laboratory for the digitization of BIM-based information in the construction industry supply chain

The research project BIM Simulation Lab aims to create a laboratory for the management and visualization of digital information to support the decision-making process in the design, execution (works management) and / or maintenance of a building.
